03/10/24what a month. i have so many logs that i've written and just need to give final edits to before turning into actual pages on here- you should know that any blogs listed between 07/09 and today were actually posted in the future. i want to keep them in order of events, though. speaking of:
the 7th was of course the counter-demo to a bunch of racists, who organised their demo following the riots in english cities the week prior. i took photos which you can see here [watch this space]
14th was my boyfriend's 32nd birthday, for which i Did My Best. he was ill, and so we ended up not even having a cake :(... i managed to get him to come out to a concert at the flying duck, though, and we had a really good time. photos listed on the concerts page
as an additional birthday event, on the 16th we did life drawing with atyn. he's life drawn before, having done art in college, but i never have. it's something he's wanted to do again and thought (correctly) that i'd enjoy and learn a lot from. it's nice having a partner who believes in you and wants you to improve! i hope we can go again soon, especially now that we both know what to expect from the event. ever since, i've been trying to draw more often. i used to doodle every day, and so i'm challenging myself to get back into that - even if it's not very good, i want to do at least one doodle a day
...on the 18th i had my first security shift at celtic fc, meaning i've now done both celtic and rangers' stadiums. even as someone who feels very negatively about football generally, i'm glad i can say i've been at both of these places. they are culturally important, and i can appreciate that even if i have no idea how anyone actually cares about the game itself.
on the 21st we went to the 14th birthday party of danse macabre, glasgow's longest-running goth night. i always love danse macabre, the music is great and the people are great. this event is also currently at the flying duck, which is a great venue as well. we also went out on the 28th, to a charli xcx themed club night. i confirmed i do not care for hyperpop.
on the 30th we saw godspeed you! black emporer at barrowland. this got its own blog post! [watch this space as well]
on the 2nd of october, yesterday as of writing this, we moved house. the old situation was weird, and the new situation is fine. we're considering going to edinburgh in the new year, mostly because we've not lived there before. i'm really tired, and both i and my partner have been extremely stressed recently. i'm hoping october will be calmer, although i've got a lot planned... including travelling to london. so we'll have to see!
aside from all of that, i'm very much feeling a wee reinvention of the self coming on. over the last handful of months a lot of my interests and perspectives have been shifting- music i used to love has lost its appeal, i've been listening to lots of new things, i've realised how nostalgic for certain things i am, and nearly all of my clothes feel boring to me. tomorrow's plan will be going to the charity shops in the area we now live in! yay!
