august + fringe
29/08/24i've hardly had any free time this month! i was working on the 1st-10th, went to orkney 11th-14th, and was working as an extra in a bollywood film on the 16th-19th, one day off, back again 20th-23rd, then we went to the fringe on the 24th. we nearly didn't, because i had an offer for a last-minute shift that evening, but i'm glad we did because we then had our final day of bollywood on the 25th. after that, we got dropped in edinburgh again and saw a couple more shows. we mainly just got to see the shows that friends put on, which is a bit of a shame :( but at least we did get to see them.
here's what we got to see at the fringe:
- ava beaux's tales of magic
- chris cook's the art of taking part
- sir dickie benson interacts with the audience whether they like it or not
- david alnwick's necromancer
- ed mulvey's if you laugh more the show will get better
- faraway cabaret (25th)
- midnight cabaret (25th)
both cabarets had some great acts (also some not-so-great ones, but that's to be expected). our favourite was the creative martyrs, who hopefully will be back next year so we can see their actual show c:
really wish i could talk about the bollywood film, but i'm not allowed! hopefully when the movie comes out next diwali, i'll be able to talk a bit about it.
i announced in a status on the 26th that i plan to make a comedy show for the pbh fringe next year. i made ko-fi for it so hopefully i'll actually do something with this and not just abandon it!
now all i need to do is find a place to live, paack up a house, and move before the 9th of september (in my spare time because i can't really afford to take time off of work). wish me luck!
