untitled 1

09/06/23

i bought some craft supplies!

specifically epoxy resin (+ hardener). you mix it together and it dries hard on its own! very cool!! from the same seller i bought 3 colours, some glitter, moulds, and 5 lobster clamps so i can try making keychains ^_^

from somewhere else i got some felt sheets + hollow fibre to make little plushies with, i'll probably turn them into keychain or phone charms too

...

hopefully, next month i'll also buy polymer clay. that really depends on if i can sell enough on depop to afford it, though. it's pretty expensive >_<

delicious day

my boyfriend loves delicious day on youtube. he watches their recipe videos with a face of pure longing. so recently, i've started making cheese filled potato bread things inspired by that channel and i'm so happy with how they come out... they're really good with soup, curry, or chilli!!

photo of food being cooked

i've been baking a lot in general lately, for some reason making cake has just been the best idea ever, every day. i might try making malt loaf again, since my last attempt wasn't near gooey enough.

i think my depression is getting a little better

the idea of actually being motivated enough to mke things has, for the longest time, seemed impossible. it is somewhat motivated by money stress + a fear of only ever doing jobs i hate, but nevertheless i am feeling pretty good about my creative endevours.

i still feel low often, especially when i start thinking too hard about Big Questions. i've had a lot of difficulty making sense of + expressing ideas i have related to gender, and it's been leaving me feeling quite lost.

zelda updates

we finished windwaker at some point (i've thouht it was 'the other day' for more than a week now). i really enjoyed it, but i do have some problems. i might write a full review? but for now:
  1. i really enjoyed the art style for the most part, but certain things were undeniably hurt by it, lord valoo and some of the monsters being obvious examples. that said, the graphics don't feel anywhere close to 20+ years old! it's aged extremely well
  2. tetra wasn't as cool as she should've been, and i do largely blame the art style for that. also, when the reveal happens her tan disappears. what?
  3. too many of the islands were effectively empty. it would have been nice to see more small villages. also, this world is too small for everyone not to be constantly visiting other islands. also, why does this link suck at swimming compared to every other one?
aside from that it was a great game! lol

we've now got onto twilight princess, and the tone shift is so dramatic it's funny. the way the graphics have aged is charming, but it has aged, in a way windwaker has not. it feels a lot more similar to ocarin of time, though, and i probably prefer that
